Chinese New Year

Chinese New Year is no longer just a celebration within the Chinese community; it has become a globally recognized festival, cherished by people around the world. This vibrant celebration marks the beginning of the new year, starting on the second new moon after the winter solstice and concluding on the full moon fifteen days later. It is a time for family reunions, special meals, fireworks, and the exchange of gifts.

For the first time, Skoebi-do joined in the festivities by organizing a small celebration with the children. We introduced them to Chinese culture and the various traditions associated with Chinese New Year. The children eagerly learned about the traditional Barong Sai dance and Chinese attire, such as the Cheongsam. They also enjoyed making lanterns and angpao. Their enthusiasm was evident, and they were delighted to gain this wonderful new experience.
